Eco Friend Vultures doing their Job/ Duty near PWD Rest-House Sangrah (India). Griffon and White Garud etc. species of  Vultures lives in Devdhal, Olna, Raicha, Gattashar, Piulani, Ghaton, Piriyadhar, Haripurdhar, Jablog and Dungi forest  and hills of Sangrah Block since hundreds of year. There are about 400 Vultures in Sangrah area but concerned departments don’t have exact figure about them. They often comes in large flock/group to eat flesh of dead animals in area and the population of these birds is not decreased to a large extend in this zone. (According to sources) The Indian Vulture is an Old World vulture and is closely related to the Griffon Vulture, It breeds mainly on hilly crags in central and peninsular India. The birds in the northern part of its range once considered a subspecies are now considered a separate species. These were lumped together under the name The species breeds mainly on cliffs, but is known to use trees to nest.  Like other vultures it is a scavenger, feeding mostly from carcasses of dead animals which it finds by soaring over savannah and around human habitation. They often move in flocks. The Long-billed Vulture is a typical vulture, with a bald head, very broad wings and short tail feathers. It is smaller and less heavily-built than the Eurasian Griffon, usually weighing between 5.5 and 6.3  and measuring 80–103 cm long and 1.96 to 2.38 m. across the wings. It is distinguished from that species by its less buff body and wing coverts. It also lacks the whitish median covert bar shown by Griffon. The Indian Vulture species have suffered with Diclofenac veterinary drug and about 97% population decrease in India. The cause of this has been identified as poisoning caused by the veterinary drug diclofenac. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and when given to working animals it can reduce joint pain and so keep them working for longer. The drug is believed to be swallowed by vultures with the flesh of dead cattle which were given diclofenac in the last days of life. Diclofenac causes kidney failure in several species of Vultures. Sangrah is a Beautiful Town, Green Valley and Tehsil HQ of District Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh. Sangrah Town is about 358 K.M. from Delhi, 161 K.M. from Shimla, 152 K.M. from Chandigarh, 65 K.M. from Rajgarh, 63 K.M. from Nahan and 25 K.M. from Renuka Ji (By Road). Government Degree College Sangrah, Tehsil Office, BDO, HDO, ADO, BSNL Exchange, Police Station, Old House of National Awarded Kinkri Devi, Jawga Hils, Jawga Helipad, Rawlagarh Fort, Brah Forest, Bhagwan Parshuram ITI, Lord Vijat and Shiva Temple are the main attraction/Place of Sangrah. There are 41 Gram Panchayats in Sangrah Development Block and Tehsil. About 21 Panchayats of Sangrah Block has been covered with the Snow during winter season. Vultures are called Geej, Gijda and Gidd etc. in Sangrah/ Giripar area of Himachal Pradesh.
