Nati Folk Dance

Nati Folk Dance in 4th Cultural Night of International Renukaji Festival on 24th of November 2015. Renukaji Mela was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Himachal Virbhadra Singh. Nati is a slow motion Traditional Dance and Folk Beat of Sirmaur, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi and Solan District of Himachal Pradesh. The Nati (Gee) has been performed since hundreds of year on particular occasion in area. Not only Professional artists but familiar natives also present Nati dance during occurrence like Marriage reception, Party and Festival etcetera in couple or group. Sonnet, Ballad, Love Songs, Achievements, Harul and Prayers of Lord are the focal contents/ themes of this folk dance. Laga Dholo the Dhamaka, Moru the Taji Dasiya, Pani ri Tanki, Kidhar Chali Bhagrathiye, Shalu re Kawatra, Sholo ra Lapeta, Rang Dalna Chuna ho and Niru Chali Ghumadi are the famous Nati folk song of Himachal Pradesh in India. Nati artist should be perfect in specific singing and dancing. Extreme expanse of Himachal Pradesh like Giripar still preserves its traditional appeal. This brings in new color to the richly hued fairs and festivals. Nati-Folk Dance in Himachal Pradesh is one among them. Much like the slowly swaying trees, soft hilly breeze and smoothly flowing rivers, this dance too reflects the relaxed elegance of Himachal Pradesh.
