Badminton Star of Himachal Aarju Thakur won 2 National and 20 State Badminton Championship till September, 2011. She won the 1st National Gold in Under Fourteen 34th National Badminton Championship held at Mandi in December, 2010. Aarju also won the 36th National Badminton Championship organized by Sports Authority of India at Agra from 13-17 of December, 2010. She belongs to village Ghalja of Sangrah Tehsil, Himachal Pradesh. Arju born on 15th of May, 1994 and she lives at Dadahu near Renukaji with her family. Her father and Coach Inder Singh conducting Maan Renuka Badminton Acadamy at Dadahu and she practice regularly in the Academy. Minister of Industry H.P. awarded her on the occasion of District level Republic Day-2011 at Nahan. Youth Congress organized a special Function at Sangrah on dated 27th of February, 2011 to Felicitate Arju for her extra ordinary contribution in the field of Badminton. She was awarded by State Secretary of Youth Congress Dinesh Azad chief guest of function. Himachal Pradesh Mahila Morch Awarded Aarju at Dadahu on occasion of International Women's Day-2011. Sangrah Vikas Manch, SMC GSSS Sangrah and Peoples of Sangrah Town Rewarded Arju on 7th of September, 2011 in a Public function at GSSS Sangrah. Chief Guest of function Ex. MLA Poop Singh presented Memento to Arju and her Father. Recently an International Level Company decided to sponsor her Sports Kit heaving cost about 1 lakh.
To become a International Badminton Champion she desperately needed one year coaching from International standard well reputed Badminton Academy. She had already taken 4 month coaching/ Training from Gowardhan Academy of Hedrabad. According to Coach of the Academy Mohammad Aarif she have to dedicated one year for become skilled International standard Shuttler/ Badminton Player. Fee for taking such coaching Academy demanded Rs. 30,000 per month. Her parents cannot afford such huge amount on her. Divya Himachal News had started Help Line for her coaching.
