Eminent Marathoner Sunil Sharma

Ultra-marathoner Sunil Sharma during 1480 K.M. marathon The Great India Run. Sunil Sharma had run usual 80 K.M. per day thorough the marathon Delhi to Mumbai in 1st week. He is one of the top 3 marathoners out of 15 selected racers of world. Sunil Sharma belongs to Maina village of Sangrah (संगड़ाहSubdivision and he is the single participator of The Great India Run from Himachal Pradesh. New he lives in Chandigarh where he is being practice or working hard to be a great marathoner of the world. Before this 1480 km multi-city marathon 35 years old Sunil successfully completed his Chandigarh to Delhi and Chandigarh-Renukaji marathon in obvious time. His well-wishers family members and other persons of Sirmour District are glad with his achievement. Sports Minister Vijay Goel, Khel Ratna Anju Bobby George, and actor Gul Panag were present at the flagged ceremony of The Great India Run. The run, one of the longest and most challenging in Asia, will test the resilience of even the most experienced of the pack. It will pass through Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, finally culminating at Mumbai in Maharasthra on August 6.  "The aim of this endeavor is to urge our countrymen to actively focus on their fitness and well-being. Through The Great India Run we also aim to showcase what phenomenal milestones a disciplined runner can achieve," said Gul Panag.The Great India Run, India’s first multi-city marathon, that kick-started at India Gate here on July 17. The event will see the ultra-marathoners cover a total of 1480 km in 21 days. Running way ahead of schedule, the 15 runners are running more than the required average of 74 km a day with amazing ease. While India’s most famous ultra-marathoner Arun Bhardwaj, Chandigarh/ Himachal based Sunil Sharma and Olympic hopeful Kaushal Chauhan had ran about 80 km per day. The Danish running pair of David Bredo and Pia Hansson was hot on the heels of the runners, covering a similar distance on each day. Starting at 6 am every day, they ended the run at 9 pm.
