Ultra-marathoner Sunil Sharma during 135 Mils Brazil Run- 2018. He successfully ran the distance of 217 K.M. in 47 Hours 9 Minutes, about an hour before cut off time. The Brazil 135 is held in the Serra da Mantiqueira Mountains in the state of Minas Gerais  from 1st to 3rd  of February, 2018. Considered the most difficult foot race in Brazil, it is run on the hardest, most challenging segment of the Caminho da Fé (Path of Faith), the most difficult Brazilian pilgrimage path. The primary objectives of the Caminho da Fé pilgrimage are the experience of moments of reflection and faith through the exercise of walking - the integration of man with nature and with religion. Before Brazil- 135 Sunil completed 188 K.M. distance in 24 Hours on 7th of January, 2018 during Delhi Stadium Run. He was the winner of Bengaluru Stadium Run and Kargil International Run held in 2017. Ultra-marathoner Sunil Sharma was also a lead runner of 1480 K.M. “The Great India Run” culminated on 4th of August, 2016 at Gate Way of India. Sunil Sharma had run usual 80 K.M. per day thorough the multi-city marathon Delhi to Mumbai. He was one of the top 3 marathoners out of 15 selected racers of world during marathon. Due to minor injury in foot Sunil Sharma had to slow down on 24th to 26th of July but he is back to his form after 27th of July, 2016. Sunil Sharma belongs to Maina village of (संगड़ाह) Sangrah Subdivision and he is the single participator of The Great India Run from Himachal Pradesh. Now he lives in Chandigarh where he is being practice or working hard to be a great marathoner of the world. Sports Minister Vijay Goel, Khel Ratna Anju Bobby George, and actor Gul Panag were present at the flagged ceremony of The Great India Run. The run, one of the longest and most challenging in Asia, will test the resilience of even the most experienced of the pack. It will pass through Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, finally culminating at Mumbai in Maharasthra on August 6.  "The aim of this endeavor is to urge our countrymen to actively focus on their fitness and well-being. The event will see the ultra-marathoners cover a total of 1480 km in 18 days. Running way ahead of schedule, the 15 runners are running more than the required average of 74 km a day with amazing ease. While India’s most famous ultra-marathoner Arun Bhardwaj, Chandigarh/ Himachal based Sunil Sharma and Olympic hopeful Kaushal Chauhan had ran about 80 km per day. Starting at 6 am every day, they ended the run at 9 pm. The Great India Run that features Icon runner Milind Soman along with strong elite field of 15 ultra-runners- Arun Bhardwaj, David Bredo, Yuri Esperson, Siddharth Choudhary, Meenal Kotak, Ranjana Deopa, Sreekanth Reddi, Melanie Delainey, Dinesh Heda, Joginder Chandna, Pia Hansson, Sunil Sharma, Shweta Sharma, Kaushal Chauhan, and Dhanaee Kumar has seen an excellent team atmosphere. The Great India Run has traversed the fields and deserts of Northern India and the hills and forests of Western India. 1,480 K.M. in 21 days is an impossible ordeal for any normal working person, that is why 18 Indian and international runners embarked on this astounding journey from the memorable India Gate in New Delhi to the iconic Gateway of India in Mumbai. The 21-day ultra-marathon was finished on Thursday, two days prior to the initial target set by the athletes. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated the athletes as they arrived in Mumbai and expressed his optimism for the Indian athletes bound for Rio Olympics. "These athletes are no less than Superman," exclaimed the minister.
